Ward was a born in MonroeLouisiana on April 15,1976. Ward went to Monroe Christian School, a Christian private school. She went to Ouachita High School to pursue the second semester of her studies. But, she transferred to River Oaks High School after the summer. She attended Northeast Louisiana University briefly after the completion of her degree. Ward left school at the age of 13 and moved in New York so that she could begin modeling. In the years following she decided to take up acting. She first appeared on screen in 1970. an uncredited character in the soap-opera All My Children and was later scheduled to play in the sluggish NBC prime-time teen-drama Malibu Shores. Ward got her first lead performance on the Sunset Beach daytime soap opera and portrayed the romantically virginal Meg Cummings.
